Reader Questions

These are the questions that reach our inbox most often, answered as briefly as we can manage.

About the site

Who runs GRS Gambling Trends?

A small independent editorial team that has followed the gambling industry since 2019. We are not owned by an operator. More on the About page.

Do you get paid by casinos or bookmakers?

We do not run affiliate rankings or publish bonus codes, and no operator decides what we write.

Can I republish one of your stories?

Short quotes with a link back are welcome. For anything longer, please ask first.

About gambling

Is online gambling legal?

It depends entirely on where you live. Some countries license it, some restrict it to state operators and some ban it. Check your local law before using any platform.

Is there a way to win consistently?

No. Casino games and betting markets are built with a margin in the operator's favour. Understanding them helps you spend wisely, not win reliably.

Are sweepstakes casinos the same as real-money casinos?

They work differently, using virtual coins and promotional rules, but they can still involve real spending. Our sweepstakes story explains more.

Getting help

I think I am gambling too much. What should I do first?

Take a break, set limits or self-exclude on your accounts, and contact a support service in your country. Our Responsible Gambling page has a starting list.

I am worried about someone else.

Our article on talking to a friend about their gambling may help, and many support services help families and friends too.

Tell us what you think.

Suggestions help us plan.

Questions that land in our inbox

Not covered? The Say Hello page goes straight to us.

Are you a casino or a bookmaker?

Neither. We write about the industry and do not take bets, run games or hold player accounts.

Will your stories help me win?

No. Understanding a format is useful, but nothing we publish changes the odds or removes the house margin.

Do you recommend particular sites?

We do not rank operators. A few older stories mention outside websites; check any platform’s licence and your local law yourself.

Where can I turn if gambling is causing problems?

Pause, use the limit and self-exclusion tools on your accounts and contact a support service in your country. Our responsible gambling page has first steps.
